Lavender Room is a gorgeous lifestyle boutique situated in the North Laine in Brighton (there is also a boutique on the seafront). Lifestyle stores in Brighton are fairly ubiquitous but the Lavender Room stuck out due to the sheer variety and volume of lovely items it stocks. It is brimming with cute finds including lingerie, jewellery, bags, prints, homeware and lighting. It is a slightly dangerous spot in that you feel like you need to buy everything! I was particularly impressed with the fabulous selection of mugs and loved the eclectic lighting on display.

Los Angeles is like a series of interconnecting towns and villages each with its own unique vibe. I love that you can walk down a street which looks run down and uninteresting and suddenly come across an amazing coffee shop or a cluster of eclectic boutiques and fab restaurants. We stayed in Venice and totally loved Abbot Kinney Boulevard. This stretch is a few blocks back from famous Venice Beach and is packed with great boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. You will find well known names such as Toms, Rag & Bone and Vince alongside cool independent stores. Check out scandi store Huset (www.huset-shop.com), Heist (a great boutique with an excellent Isabel Marant collection) (www.shopheist.com) and the homeware store Ilan Dei Venice (www.ilandeivenice.com). If you are looking for an amazing brew then head to Intelligentista which is a veritable coffee works. Visit Gjelina (www.gjelina.com) for delicious pizza.
This women’s wear store in laid back Laguna Beach does casual Californian chic to perfection. It stocks great brands such as Mother, The Great and Ulla Johnson and has an amazing selection of jeans, carrying great new season styles. You will find a fantastic selection of jewellery, the delicate subtle sort which goes great with simple t-shirts. I also spotted the most wonderful colorful bucket bags, gingham purses and flat leather sandals. Pay a visit to stock up on wearable everyday clothes that are not only fun and relaxed but also bang on trend.

Les Filles Au Balcon is a small and trendy concept store located in Rue Cheverus in Bordeaux. The interior is well organized and visually calming, decked out in appealing white and pastel hues. You will find homeware, decorative objects and bold statement jewellery, artfully laid out in wire baskets and on wooden shelves lending a definite Scandi feel. Pay a visit if you’re after quirky storage, tablet cases and unusual printed fabrics.

This small but lovely shop in Dublin sells unique Irish craft and design products. The owners clearly have an eye for design evident from the stock which includes homeware, stationary, jewellery and accessories all of which is Irish designed and made. I particularly loved the canvas satchels and unusual Irish themed books and prints. Located on trendy Drury Street, you will find none of the usual tourist kitsch here. If you are visiting Dublin and want to take home something genuinely different then pay this little gem a visit.
